We offer a proactive gritting and snow removal solution. We apply our salt using 'high output push spreaders' which are manoeuvrable for smaller areas - We also apply salt by hand to foot paths, driveways, steps, emergency exits and other confined areas.

What deicing salt do we use?
We use high concentrate, non corrosive white de-icing salt. Unlike the ordinary brown salt which contains insoluble impurities which creates a muddy sludge that is tramped into offices and vehicles, Our white salt leaves little or no residue on the ground.

How much salt do we use?
The HSE guidelines are to spread approximately 10-15gms/m2 for precautionary salting and 20-40gms/m2 during ice and snow conditions. However this amount may differ as we evaluate each site on its individual needs.

The HSE recommend that gritting should be carried out when frost, ice or snow is forecast or when walkways are likely to be damp or wet and the floor temperatures are at or below freezing. The best times to apply salt are early in the evening before the frost settles.

Warning - Salt doesn’t work instantly, it needs sufficient time to dissolve into the moisture on the floor. The presence of road salt will not always guarantee an ice-free surface, so due care and attention is always essential.
